Tunde Kelani begins online TV

Celebrated filmmaker, Tunde Kelani, has joined the growing band of online television owners with rich African cultural themed contents for viewers globally.

The new online platform, tundekelani.tv billed for launch on Friday is web – based and optimum on all mobile devices. The video channel is designed to offer viewers of all ages a refreshing viewing experience of past and current works of the award winning film director and other cultural themed contents from different owners across Africa and the Diaspora.
The tundekelani.tv platform also offers viewers, business owners, private or corporate organisations the opportunity to advertise and promote their brands.

“It is an attempt to respond to the yearnings of our teeming fans of rich African themed contents on the go. Distributing films or other contents physically are becoming increasingly difficult, revenues are lost on a daily basis and content owners are at the mercy of the menacing activities of pirates. I think it is just natural, expedient and sensible to take contents closer to the consumers on demand and in terms that suit all the parties involved.
Research, Kelani said, has shown that with a simple mobile device, online TV viewers can watch any content online without scruples.

To subscribers of tundekelani.tv., there will be a wide range of genre, including movies, high quality drama, interviews and documentaries that focus on issues mainstream media fails to cover adequately.
Besides Kelani’s titles such as Oleku, Agogo Ewo, Saworoide, Thunderbolt( Magun), Narrow Path, Campus Queen and Maami, his latest experience with ‘filmed play’, Yeepa, an adaptation of Prof. Femi Osofisan ‘ classic play, Yeepa Solarin Nbo will be on the play list. Coming to esteemed lovers of the new channel is Amos Tutuola’s Palmwine Drinkards.

As the new online destination for African cultural themed contents, Kelani urged all other content owners to get on board.

Viagra Intake: Late Micheal Jackson’s Father Suffers Stroke

Late Micheal Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson suffered stroke and three heart attacks after partying with younger women in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The 87 year old was reported to have consumed three viagra pills before stepping out to party with the women.

It was speculated that the temptations at the Brazilian party may have been physically too much for Micheal Jackson’s father to bear.

Meanwhile, Joe flew into the country two weeks ago for a pleasure trip and set aside about $200,000 for birthday blowout in his honour, but ended up being rushed to hospital on the eve of the celebration.

Just after his arrival in the country, the Jackson patriarch was spotted dinning with a group of ladies at an upscale restaurant.

2Face, Faze reunite in Makurdi

The Plantashun Boiz were once the biggest contemporary act in Nigeria. The trio of 2Face, Faze and Blackface were the subject of many a teenage girl’s fantasies with their list of hit songs such as ‘Don’t U Know’, ‘You And I’ and ‘Knock Me Off’ in the late 90s and early 00s.

Following their breakup in the middle of the previous decade, their musical journeys took different routes with all three members going solo. On Saturday August 1 at the IBB Square in Makurdi, Benue State, 2Face and Faze came together for a rare stage reunion at the Star Music Trek 2015 #MakurdiRocks concert which also featured performances from Yemi Alade, Runtown, Kcee, MI, DJ Neptune, Tony Blaze and Gbenga Adeyinka.

The concert, which was a homecoming of sorts for Benue State homeboy 2Face was packed to the rafters with thousands of expectant fans eager to set eyes on their hometown hero. After performing several of his hits, he surprised the crowd by inviting erstwhile bandmate Faze onstage and then the evening got really intense.

Is Wizkid Africa’s Next Superstar?

Sometime in February, TATTLES wrote an article titled Dear Wizkid, Your Star Is Falling. Well, TATTLES now recognises how wrong I was at that point. Not only has Wizkid’s star not fallen, it has soared!
It’s no longer news that African music is enjoying a re- emergence on the global music scene. More and more international record companies are doing business with African artists.
A recent example is music mogul Jay Z and his Tidal music service. Jay sent a top executive from his company to meet with some Nigerian record labels to develop a partnership that will lead to more exposure for Nigerian music. This simply proves the earlier stated fact.
With all this going on, one must recognise the efforts of Wizkid in taking the African sound to more and more homes abroad. In a short while, the Ojuelegba crooner has scored major collaborations with the likes of Drake, Chris Brown, Skepta and allegedly Rihanna. Swizzbeatz and Alicia Keys shared videos of themselves dancing to his music. And it seems the Starboy boss is not done. He continually teases via his social media accounts that he has more work with other stars in the pipeline.
Let’s not forget that Wizkid is not the first musician to get accolades for his music abroad, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Salif Keita, Angelique Kidjo, Youssou N’dour and King Sunny Ade have done their part in promoting our sound but in modern times, Wizkid is the leader of a new school of artists who are steadily gaining ground in the international market. Others in this group include Ghana’s Fuse ODG, South African bands Die Antwoord and Mi Casa, Nigeria’s Asa, Davido and surprisingly, Timaya.
Even though Femi Kuti has been nominated in the Best World Music Album category at the Grammy’s a couple of times, Wizkid may be the one to bring this award home to Nigeria. It’s also not a bad idea if a Grammy award category was created for African music.
At this point, Wizzy’s major competition should be Davido but the Aye crooner’s album that features Wale and Trey Songz is yet to drop and the video for his single Fans Mi which features Meek Mill has been bashed by almost everyone for promoting drug culture, which is a no go area for Nigerians and other Africans. Also, Meek’s losing battle with Drake does not help Davido’s cause either.
I just hope Wizkid does not rest on his laurels following the recognition he’s gotten for his recent achievements. He should build on the recognition and help African music soar to higher heights.

The Game Being Sued $10 Million For Alleged Sexual Assault

This is quite the lawsuit. The Game is being accused of sexually assaulting a contestant on his reality show, but that’s not all the reported victim is doing. She’s also suing the rapper for $10 million big ones.
The Game, 35, has a pretty big lawsuit and accusation on his hands. The reality star is being sued for $10 million by former contestant Priscilla Rainey on his reality show. The alleged victim is claiming The Game sexually assaulted her by putting his unwanted hands all over her.
The She’s Got Game contestant filed a lawsuit in the federal court of Illinois claiming the rapper sexually assaulted her while they were shooting a scene in a sports bar on May 22. Priscilla claims in the documents that the 35-year-old was “out of control,” drunk, and on drugs and over the course of the evening, he touched her inappropriately many times. Priscilla alleges in the docs that The Game was “forcefully reaching his hand inside her dress to rub her bare vagina and buttocks.” The Game has yet to comment on these allegations against him.
This isn’t the first time the rapper’s name has been attached to violence and assault allegations. Back in April 2014, the rapper’s fiancee, Tiffney Cambridge, filed a police report against him, claiming The Game repeatedly hit her in the face, injuring her eye socket, and breaking her nose after the two had an argument. Although the rapper was never hit with any charges, he publicly insists he didn’t touch her. “I don’t want to give fuel to these false accusations, but the truth will definitely come out,” The Game told TMZ. “I am always looking out for my children’s safety and have never laid a hand on Tiffney.”
Unfortunately, the assault allegation is the second one against the rapper in 2015. Earlier in March, the rapper was reportedly involved in a scuffle with an off-duty cop. TMZ obtained video of The Game throwing a punch at the officer, and on June 5, a judge issued a warrant for his arrest. However, in a strange turn of events, The Game was actually charged with one felony count of making criminal threats. He allegedly told the officer, “I’m going to tell you.” But the 35-year-old denied the threats and claimed it was actually the cop who had threatened him. After being booked, The Game was held for about an hour before he posted a $50,000 bail and was released.

Lagos: Pastor Hijacks Truck With N25m Goods to Expand His Church

The Federal Anti-robbery Squad in Lagos have arrested three persons for allegedly diverting a truck load of split air conditioners valued at about N25 million.

The suspects had hijacked the truck and had transported the goods to their warehouse.

A suspect, Pastor Peter Iyasele, was arrested at Igando area of the metropolis by a team of police detectives, who had mounted surveillance for him. Others are, Anthony Ibiade, and Amas Debar.

In his confession, Iyasele said he intends to use the proceed from the operation to expand his church.

“My name is Peter Iyesele, 56-year-old, I am married and I have four children. I am a pastor and I have a church along Badagry expressway.

“I was arrested at Igando bus-stop for participating in hijacking and diversion of goods worth over N25 million. I have been engaging in these operations for years but after a while I stopped and invested proceeds from the operations in transportation.”

The suspect further alleged that he opted out of the gang nine years ago when he gave his life to Christ.

“I had made enough from series of operations in the past and I was doing well in my transportation business before I was duped by a woman,” he said.

The self-acclaimed pastor further said that he went back to the crime to raise enough money to expand his church, adding that had he succeeded, he would have used the proceeds to build a house for God.

Reports said the suspects were arrested following a tip off from a public spirited person, alleging that the trio had hijacked a truck carrying about 25 units of heavy duty outdoor split air conditioners worth over N25 million.
